Herman is a 9-year-old, 9-pound Yorkie mix. After his first mom died and he was put into a shelter. At the shelter, Herman was very scared. He would bite out of fear, so he was labelled aggressive and remained un-adopted, at the shelter, for 5 YEARS! Since he has been in foster care, Herman is no longer biting, and has shown a very sweet loving soul. He does approach on his own terms for cuddles and to sleep next to you. He is still scared with strangers, quick movements, (when reaching to pick him up) and of cats, LOL! He is very food motivated, which does help with training. He is looking for a quiet home with lots of love and affection. No children please. Herman understands piddle pads and how to use them. He also loves to go outside and roll in the grass & go for car rides. He appears to have been very spoiled by his first Mom which explains why he was so terrified at the shelter. He is currently being spoiled rotten again, with good food and lots of love. We are looking for a forever parent for Herman that can continue his royal treatment, which he so deserves. His adoption fee is $150.

To prospective adopters;
It is true rescuers are more particular of who they adopt dogs too. We see all the horrible treatment of animals every day. We literally rescue dogs from the poor or abusive treatment of humans. In my personal opinion, society has evolved to where owning a dog is a right and privilege. Most people consider only what they want and not what is right for the dog. That is why once a dog is in our hands and consequently in our hearts, we make sure that anyone who adopts an animal from us has a good life to offer the dog. It is not an easy task. Everyone wants a dog. We try to screen people first before getting too involved with helping them find a dog, or we would be simply selling dogs. We are also a strictly a volunteer organization. Most of us work at least part time jobs. Our time to the rescue is valuable and limited. We believe that anyone who is sincerely a wonderful potential adopter, will endure the process.
